WHAT WE DO

The Virtual RNZAF is a volunteer run New Zealand Virtual Air Force group. We fly operations in New Zealand, Australia, Antarctica and anywhere else in the Pacific. We provide a fun and enjoyable experience and fly a modern fleet of aircraft flown by the real RNZAF. This organization mirrors the real RNZAF and pays respect to the people who serve with the New Zealand Defence Force.

PILOT TRAINING

Before flying the big stuff, we like to start with the small. Flying the Texan T-6c you will be trained in many situations, from basic aircraft handling to high speed, low level formation flying. Initial Pilot Training is one of the most exciting courses we offer Aircraft flown:
  • Beechcraft Texan T-6c ii
  • Beechcraft King Air 350ii

Marine operations

Whether it's a SAR mission to the sub-Antarctic islands or searching the south pacific for submarines our marine division has it all. 
Flying the:
  • Lockheed P3K2 Orion
  • And soon the Boeing P8 Poseidon

CARGO/TRANSPORT

Whether ​you're flying cargo down to the ice runway in Antarctica or flying troops to war zones in the middle east, you can experience long hours of flights and big promotions with this category. One day you could be transporting humanitarian aid to the Pacific Islands and the next be flying troops to different war zones around the world. Flying the:
  • Boeing 757-200
  • Lockheed C130 Hercules

HELICOPTERS

When flying helicopters it can take you all over New Zealand and even the Pacific. Versatile missions like SAR, VIP Transport, or even naval aviation in our Seaspirtes. There is no limit to what these versatile machines can do. You will be flying the
  • NHIndustries NH90
  • AgustaWestland AW109
  • Kaman SH-2 Seasprite

​JOINING US

Important Information 

We are open for any person 15 years and over who are located in a time zone that can fly operations with our group and be operational with our time zone (New Zealand Standard Time GMT+12). Depending on the time zone we can be flexible on that requirement if it means you fly a flight once a month.

Before joining the vRNZAF please read the following requirements:
  • You must be 15 or older.
  • you must have a copy of Prepar3d, FSX, Xplane or DCS.
  • A working microphone to use on the network when flying with us.
  • A basic joystick for flying operations.
  • knowledge of how to use Vpilot (or any other significant program), And Discord.
  • Agree to the vRNZAF Standing orders (Found here).
  • Agree to our Policy (Found here).
  • Be committed to 1 hour a month on the network with a vRNZAF callsign and remarks.
